Plan to change the vacuum bag monthly. Check more often if your home is large, if you have children, if there is a lot of foot traffic in your house or if you have pets. When vacuuming new carpet for the first few times, check the bag after each use. New carpet tends to “shed” carpet fiber and can quickly fill a bag. When cleaning fine dust and debris, the filtration through the bag will be reduced. Under these conditions, the bag should be changed more often. If the dirt is above the line printed on the bag, change it immediately.
